Hana No Ochi
MIXED MEDIA ON PAPER | 30X60 | 2025
When gravity meets the medium, it does more than make it flow. It orchestrates diffusion, settling, and deposits. Within that controlled chance, fractal-like patterns emerge: repeating structures at different scales, as if the same gesture echoed from the infinitesimal to the vast. From those halos, sakura-like blooms appear, carrying me to Japan, to the season of hanami.
Cosmogony of the Stroke
In this series, each canvas is born from a single gesture. The stroke, seemingly simple, acts as a founding act, a line of birth around which the universe unfolds. Through matter, light, and color, it becomes both imprint and expansion, the quiver of a cell and the ballet of stars.
The void is never neutral. The backgrounds, shaped by layers of washes, pigments, and textures, vibrate with silent energy. They evoke interstellar space, an invisible matrix that pulses and breathes, awaiting the irruption of the gesture.
Cosmogony of the Stroke explores the tension between the infinitely small and the infinitely large, between the clarity of movement and the complexity it contains. Each painting is both microcosm and cosmos, a fragment of the universe held within the breath of a single stroke.
